He earned his M.D. from the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine and furthered his training at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Following his residency, Dr. Padilla turned his focus to emergency care. He handled a majority of the trauma cases from the petroleum industry off the California Central Coast before moving to Dallas. Here he served as director of emergency and trauma services at two hospitals, and director of a group of family practice urgent care clinics.
